Jamie Oliver Flavour Shaker Recipes - Creamy Garlic French Dressing

1/2 teaspoon black peppercorns
1/2 teaspoon rock salt
1 clove of garlic, pealed
2 tablespoons herb vinegar
6 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon creme fraiche

Put in the peppercorns, salt and garlic in the bottom of the Flavour Shaker, drop the ball in and screw to top on tightly. Shake for 20 seconds, the hold upright and unscrew the top. Add the rest of the ingredients, screw top back on and shake again for 10 seconds.

Jamie Oliver Flavour Shaker Recipes - Old English Sugar 'n' Spice

2 inch piece of cinnamon stick, roughly broken up
a strip of orange zest
a strip of lime zest
a pinch of ground nutmeg
1 clove
3 tablespoons sugar

Put the cinnamon, orange and lime zest, nutmeg, clove and 1 tablespoon of sugar into the bottom of the Flavour Shaker, drop in the ball ans screw to top on tightly. Shake for 30 seconds then add the rest of the sugar ans shake again for 10 seconds.

Sprinkle over some fruits (peaches, pears, fig, even rhubarb), with a little white wine or brandy and bake until browned. Good for dusting over cakes, crumbles and biscuits too.

2 inch piece of cinnamon stick, roughly broken up
2 cloves
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon black peppercorns
1 teaspoon rock salt
a strip of lemon zest
1/2 clove of garlic, peeled
1 teaspoon paprika

Put the cinnamon, cloves, thyme and peppercorns in the bottom of the Flavour Shaker, drop the ball in an screw the top on tightly. Shake well for 30 seconds, or until broken into small pieces, then add salt, lemon zest, garlic and paprika. Screw top back on and shake for another 20 seconds and your rub is ready.

Massage it well into chicken or fish before roasting or grilling or barbequing.

1 teaspoon coriander seeds
1 small dried red chilli
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/2 teaspoon black peppercorns
1 teaspoon rock salt
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

Put the coriander, chilli, cumin and peppercorns in the bottom of the Flavour Shaker, drop the ball in and screw the top on tightly. Shake for 30 seconds, or until its crumbly, and then add the salt, paprika, turmeric and ginger. Screw top back on and shake for another 20 seconds.

Sprinkle over chops or kebabs and they are ready to grill for a real tandoori flavour. Try rubbing onto lamb chops 10 inutes before barbecuing, or stirring a spoonful into a bowl of yoghurt to use as a dip.

1 teaspoon fresh rosemary leaves1 teaspoon dried thyme
a pinch of lavender flowers or leaves (optional)
3 fresh bay leaves
1/2 teaspoon black peppercorns
1 teaspoon rock salt
1 clove garlic, pealed
zest and juice of 1/2 a lemon
4 tablespoons olive oil

Put the herbs, salt and peppercorns into the bottom of the Flavour Shaker, drop the ball in and screw the top on tightly. Shake for 30 seconds then add the garlic, lemon zest and juice and olive oil. Screw top back on and shake for another 20 seconds or until the mixture is fully blended.

Pour over whole goat's cheese and bake until golden brown.

Fantastic for marinating fish or meat.
